Welcome To Hurley Primary School

On behalf of all the Hurley Primary School team I would like to extend a warm welcome to the children, parents and carers who starting Hurley Primary School in September 2022. We hope you will find the information below helpful.

Induction morning

Wednesday 6th July from 9.30am – 11.30 am

  • We have a morning session for new Reception Children to attend Hurley Primary school and meet their new teacher before the summer holiday
  • We will be having a short induction session this Summer Term on Wednesday 6th July this will be from 9.30am to 11.30 am
  • Children in Littleseeds Nursery will come into Nursery and be Collected from Nursery at their normal time (Nursery staff will bring their children across to Reception and collect them.)
  • Other Children can be dropped off via the school playground entrance

Parents can park on the church carpark and bring their children across the playground to the Reception class

‘Discovering Science Workshop’  

At Hurley Primary School On Tuesday 28thJune 9.00 – 10.30 am For Reception and Nursery Children to attend with their parents  

This is another opportunity for the New Reception Children to spend time at Hurley Primary School before the summer. Parents (or Grandparents must attend this event with their child)

Starting School Tuesday 6th September 2022

  • Tuesday 6th September is the first day at school.
  • Monday 5th September is a Teacher Training Day – so children are not at school

      The school office will be open so parents can collect uniform etc. before 2.00 pm

  • For the first 3 days Children will only attend school for half days
  • Half Days from Tuesday 6th Sept, Wednesday 7th Sept, Thursday 8th Sept
  • Children with Surnames beginning A-H  attend morning sessions 9.30 – 11.30 am
  • Children with Surnames beginning I-Z  attend afternoon sessions 1.30 – 3.30 pm
  • On Friday 9th September the children will stop all day from 8.45 – 3.30 pm

Hurley tries hard to be a completely cashless school.

• In the first week you will receive an activation letter.

• This will contain your username and an initial password (which you can change)

• If you already have children in school, you need to link your new child to your existing account.

One booklet is for the children to complete, and the other is for you – the parents to complete

Pupil Premium Entitlement

Primary schools are given additional funding to support certain groups of pupils.If your child belongs to one of these groups you are eligible for a Pupil Premium Funding

Home School Agreement

This is an important partnership agreement which we ask parents to sign with us. The agreement encourages school and parents support each other and work collaboratively to get the best outcomes for the children.

Consent Forms

You will receive a pack containing the consent forms and a Home school Agreement form. Below you can download and print out a copy of these forms if youchoose. It is important these Consent forms are returned to school as soon as possible.

The Warwickshire School Health and Wellbeing Service (WSHWS)Compass – The School Health Team

This service is led by school nurses and supports school-aged children, young people and their families with their health and wellbeing needs continuing the support you may have received from your Health Visitor.

Starting arrangements


8.45 am DROPPING CHILDREN OFF – We expect by September that life will have returned to normal and assume  Covid restrictions will be removed. Adults can enter the school playground and drop off their children at the Reception Gate. For those parents unfamiliar with the school, we will have staff in place to guide you.

The Reception children will arrive at 8.45 – 8.55 am at the ‘Reception Gate’ Please drop the children at the Reception Gate and there will be an adult there to greet them. To encourage the children’s independence, we ask Parents not to come in with their children
All infants are entitled to a free school meal each day (from Rec, Y1 and Y2.) Alternatively, children can bring a packed lunch if you prefer.


Good communication, positive partnerships and relationships with parents are all vital to ensuring a successful education

Positive ethos   – We work hard to get to know parents and build positive relationships

Open-door policy    –   We encourage parents to share and discus their problems, views and thoughts with us

Class and Whole school emails – These group emails enable us to send out Newsletters and fliers electronically –

Texts – We can send you quick messages via our school texts. It is therefore vital we have your Up-to-date phone numbers

MOST OF OUR INFORMATION IS NOW SENT OUT USING EITHER SCHOOL TEXTS OR EMAILS It is therefore essential you  provide us with an up-to-date email AND mobile phone number , so you receive all our correspondence.

Home link Books  – These are essential in keeping close links between school and home. Any concerns or information you wish to give us could you please put on the relevant page. Also, when you listen to your child read could you please write a comment in the book

Newsletters   – Each term we send out whole school and class newsletters via the groups email system

Events Calendar   – Each Half term we send an Events Calendar which highlights the main events with times and dates

Clubs Letters   – Each term we send out club letters to enable children to choose their after-school clubs

Event Fliers We also send fliers about specific trips or events which give more details about a particular event
